In our clinic, we offer the possibility of diagnostics and treatment of heart diseases. In both facilities there are doctors specializing in this field. During a cardiological visit, the most important examination is the heart echo, which allows to assess the functioning of the heart cavities and valves, blood flow and large blood vessels using ultrasound. It is a non-invasive, painless and completely safe examination. The echo is recommended as a preventive test in the diagnosis of congenital diseases in young animals and acquired conditions in older animals. Additionally, it is preferrably favoured to be carried out before each procedure that is planned to be performed under general anesthesia as it reduces the risk of complications during the operation.
The second very important audit is the ECG, i.e. electrocardiographic examination consisting in placing electrodes on the patient’s skin that will receive electrical impulses related to the work of the heart. It is recommended for investigating cardiac arrhythmias.
